Have you been in and out of AA/NA? Have sponosrs told you to just do “another 4th step” Do you feel like AA is a cult? Have you been told to do more “service” ? Are tired of hearing readings from a book from 1939 being your design for living? Have AA memebers told you what medications you can or can not take? This and more are some reasons why people are running from 12 step meetings and it’s culture.
But what about the person who gets a DUI and is court ordered illegally to AA meetings. Know your rights. Ask for a non religious alternative , such as LifRing, Smart Recovery, Hams Harm REduction, Drink Link Moderation , On Track and Beyond, Amy Lee Coys WAY, Rational Recovery and SOS , Secualr Oranizations for Sobriety .

SOS -Secular for Sobriety- Save ourselves-has been around for 27 years. After Jim was unhappy with the AA model he created his own support groups and a new program which has a refreshing option other then 12 step. When did it become okay to kill someone but use the fact that you have been attending meeting of Alcoholics ANonymous to try and get off? When did AA get such a Gold Standard? What does that mean?
WHo really cares that you attend AA. What really is going on in meetings anyway. Old timers hitting on new comers, sexual predatory behavior, gossip, small talk, bullying, the repetitious reading of a book written in 1936 that has never been updated at ALL!
The violent offenders are coming in droves yet the AA NY headquarters has taken no action to protect or even warn the current and new AA member. Warn your friends. Be warned. AA is now and has been very very dangerous.
