Stop Sexual Harassment, Rape and scams in AA. Here is our new literature!
MAKE AA SAFER FOR THE NEWCOMER
If someone makes you uncomfortable in any way, tell the secretary and a friends and do not give them your contact information. A sponsor guides you through the steps and shares their experience as to how they have stayed sober.
We ALL deserve RESPECT and the right to get sober in a healthy empowered environment. Everyone regardless of race, color, gender, age, religion, creed, disability, and sexual orientation, all deserve a chance to get sober without harassment of any kind.
Like one old timer in Hawaii used to say “ the good, the bad, and the ugly are in AA just like on the street.”
Minors should not take rides from members of the opposite sex. ␣there should always be another person with them, with one being of the same sex as the minor. Minors should not go alone to the house of an older sober member to do step work until trustworthiness is established. It is safer to do this work in a public area like a coee shop.
Trust is earned.
MAKE AA SAFER FOR ALL MEMBERS
regarding behaviors that are adversely aecting the Atmosphere of
Recovery in our meetings.
We are not a dating service or walking ATM’s! Sponsers and old timers should not abuse their position of power and authority. What is a trusted servant? Beware of all of them including those with a great pitch and alot of sober time. It all means nothing “in the rooms”anymore.
Remember, if a crime is committed CALL THE POLICE and file that report. Tell the secretary of your home group and your sober friends if you are being harassed or if you feel uncomfortable. If they don’t support you and tell you to cover it up… contact us here at makeaasafer@gmail.com
