Suicide and Alcoholics Anonymous members-drunk and sober they leave us…why…tell us their stories here.

Have you or a loved one known someone who was in AA
and sober and clean that killed themselves.
What part does the AA fellowship, culture and punitive attitudes
hurt-not help new people trying to get help.

Have you known someone who needed to take medication
and were told by their AA piers to not take Anti Depressants,
aspirin or pain
medication?
If you are reading this and you are a happy AA member.
You have no right to tell anyone what kind of medicine to take.
It's actually a legal liability! You could be personally sued.
Your local meeting is liable and so is the district and Area.
And one someone drinks and comes back...how about being compassionate.

  1. Brian Rudd-June 30, 2011 Yonkers NY in and out of AA over 20 years. Many years sober and rejected by oldtimers because he had mental health issues. Just working the steps didn’t fully work for Brian. Even though he worked all 12 steps many times. They seriously fell short in many ways including how rudely they treated Brian when he returned to meetings early last year.
