This is another tragic story of a woman who meets a killer in Alcoholics Anonymous and she thinks he’s a regular drunk. AA World Service needs to warn the public and its members that AA is not safe.

I hope her family will contact us. We already warned AA in NY in October of 2009 things were escalataing. Paul C warned them in 2008. Maybe someone will finally sue their …

Its time for the insanity to stop. Please post everywhere, print this story, read it to your meeting and get talking on stop the mandating of already proven criminals to meetings as well as to stop DUI’s being illegally mandated to AA in California.

  1. Sorry I’m late to this conversation, and I’m not sure if Heidi’s checking in anymore, but she might like to have a look at the Keep Coming Back section of Stinkin’ Thinkin’: http://stinkin-thinkin.com/keep-coming-back/

The bottom line is that, as long as the courts are using AA as a dumping ground, shunting all kinds of financial and sexual predators, domestic abusers, and mentally ill people out of the court system and into an unaccountable, “anonymous” program, bad things are going to happen. No one tells you not to trust your instincts when you go to a bar or the mall, so people aren’t going to suppress their survival instincts. But suspending disbelief and learning to suppress your “alcoholic thinking” (questioning) is par

    1. ftg- Oh how nice it is to see your handle here. I feel you are so famous now! And still such a fabulous writer. Thanks for popping over here to write something a support the cause. More will be revealed…Oh no ….I used an AA slogan. Or did that steal that from some religion as well. 🙂

  2. SAllyJ –

For sure. This has been going on for 50-60 years I heard from someone. Maybe even as soon as the first vulnerable AA woman showed up besides Marty Mann cause she was gay so she was safe from Bill Wilson!
But were those woman safe from Marty Mann. LOL There was a big story about her last summer about her relationships with AA woman. From what I hear the Gay community is notorious for preying on their sponsee’s and more.

Sick, sick , sick. ANd the cover up is deep and entrenched.

  3. AA can be unsafe..period! This has been going on for years, people being harmed as a direct result of attending AA. They hold the strings to make change and provide a safer atmosphere, no one else. However all that has been done is the continual brush off, “meetings are singular and responsible for itself”, while they collect the moolah from book sales. The ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS organization does NOT CARE.

This is a huge injustice to society. Not only does the judicial system send criminals to AA. Members themselves are taught to go to prisons and solicit membership. This under the guise of helping another alcoholic of course. At the same time, they invite young people and minors to the same meetings.

People that are aware of this strange structure and the crime in the anonymous world and stick up for AA are in denial. Most repeat the same billshit slogans, “Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other that …”.

What about, “Alcoholics Anonymous is an organization that teaches members to recruit for their cultish religion by programming them to believe it is an essential part of their recovery. Meanwhile, the program has a ridiculously low success rate of 5% and the organization is hoarding millions of dollars while members continually get harmed by their participation. This without any change of structure and IGNORING complaints of abuse and harassment.”

*AA has a proven death rate of 29% along with an increased binge drinking rate. It’s actual purpose is to control and make money.

  4. @Heidi “Are you seriously stating that AA is responsible for this crazy person’s behavior?”

Yes AA is responsible for getting in bed with the criminal justice system for 40 years, and more recently the last 10 or so sending violent criminals and 3rd level sex offenders to a place where there are no simple rules to protect its own members, like a simple sexual harassment policy like SMART Recovery has, the Boys scouts, and The Big Brothers of America have. They were sued and lost BTW miss Heidi! They were forced to make changes.

AA and any non profit Board members have a responsibility to warn their members when they know wrong doing is going on , and that also means sexually wrong doing, not just money. It is the boards responsibility. FOr some reason poeple think AA is a “special” secret society that falls under the radar of “THE LAW ” and out rights. Sorry Heidi….it’s not true, but unfortunately , most people think they can’t go to the police an report an AA member. WHAT NOT? Well….in 2012 they are going, but just not often enough.

They didnt meet at a Dairy Queen you idiot. IN a Dairy Queen you don’t hold hands with strangers, you are not told to pick a stranger who has not been proven to be safe or sane as a sponsor, you are not told you are broken in a DAIRY Queen, You are not subjugated to listening to the horrifically negative literature such as Chapter 5 or the the 12 steps a religion. OKAY missy.

“As a woman in recovery for many years, I have never felt unsafe in a meeting. ”

Really…have you gone to only women’s meetings? Once again you prove my point about how sick AA members are and have become over a long period of time. I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT YOU miss self centered cult member that you are.

I am not talking about me.

Im talking about the hundreds of men and women who have contacted us with one horror story after another. I am talking about a young women or man who goes to AA innocently thinking it is a good place to get help. AS far as we can see, its not just sexual predation that is the problem. WHat bothers us it a modality that is from 1939, never tested, never researched never proven to work more then 5 % success rate. In fact, I noticed in the end that many old timers are realy really angry and are not mentally or emotionally healthy people with a broken “program” that was created by Mr nutjob Bill Wilson.

Once again, no one holds hands with anyone at a BUS Stop and no one sits very close to anyone at the Library and tells them the worse things they did when they were drinking. No one in a library or at a Bus stop asks a stranger to be a sponsor to tell them what to do !!!

At all those other places we have our guard up as we should. AA needs to warn the public and its members about this problem. Paul C. already did that and they chose to put him off for a whole year and ignore him and do nothing,

Heidi, They are liable as all get up.

SO take your trash talking stupidly over to a pro AA blog. We have heard and seen this hogwash way TOO MANY TIMES!

    1. Wow Massive, you really nailed the point! I just want to repeat it, so that everyone gets it, because it’s so important. Here’s the play-by play:

      1. Massive posted a story about a woman who was murdered by a man she met in AA, and who she presumably trusted in the first place because they met in AA. Massive made the point that AA should warn people that they shouldn’t assume everyone they meet in AA is safe and/or trustworthy.

      2. An AA defender made this silly remark:

“What if they would have met at a Dairy Queen? Would you be asking people to spread the message that Dairy Queen is dangerous?”

      3. Massive called this out for the silly, fallacious argument that it is. She showed that this is a comparison of apples and oranges. She showed the important difference between meeting someone in a public situation as opposed to meeting them in an underground “support group”:

“They didnt meet at a Dairy Queen you idiot. Bravo Massive! Your message is so important for everyone to hear. With your 35 year history in AA, having done tons of service, and having actively lobbied for change within AA, you are the perfect person to be saying this because you’ve seen and experienced the truth about this issue.

  5. Are you seriously stating that AA is responsible for this crazy person’s behavior? The killer knew the woman from an AA meeting the year before. What if they would have met at a Dairy Queen? Would you be asking people to spread the message that Dairy Queen is dangerous?

As a woman in recovery for many years, I have never felt unsafe in a meeting. I have certainly heard of men harassing women in meetings and I’ve heard of women harassing men in meetings. And at many places of business. And at the coffee shop. And the local shopping mall.

People in recovery are alcoholics and addicts. And sometimes we have mental health issues and may even be bat shit crazy! And yes, there are some scary ones out there. Just like at the bus stop. But that is not exclusive to AA. I’ve heard of women being followed home from the library and murdered. Should we close the libraries?

    1. Part of the problem with both AA and NA is that they encourage people to stop thinking for themselves and rely on the group. They are told to exchange phone numbers with complete strangers. There are no warning whatsoever in AA or NA meetings. In fact 12 step programs excel at covering up the crimes of AA/NA members all of the time. people are being forced to attend meetings alongside very dangerous mentally deranged violent felons. This put’s them in harm’s way. Many people have died and been raped because of this growing practice.

So the answer is a resounding YES! AA has blood on their hands for all those that have been murdered and raped by hooking up with a nutcase in a mandated AA/NA meeting.
